  1. To Louise and Bishop: Thank you for the pure JOY you’ve brought to my life with Three Pines and my fantasy husband, Armand Gamache. With every book I thought, “I want to marry this man!” Imagine my surprise when I heard that’s exactly how you created Gamache—as the type of man you would marry. We have great taste in men, don’t we?! My sincere condolences on your loss of Michael. It seems you are healing gently and gracefully. Hugs to you.

  2. It was such a joy to see Louise at the beautiful Congregational church in Madison, Ct with my sister in law and good friend. I love her series and get such a good feeling while reading them. She is a very special lady!

  3. Dear Louise,
Linda is a KEEPER!!! Her video is a gem full of fun and happy people AND of course patient and loving animal souls.
I read your Glass Houses as I have all of your books and to be honest, I stopped reading Glass Houses at chapter 30….I didn’t want it to end. I would be losing my friend Gamache for a whole year. But curiosity and whether I had the right suspect got the best of me. Within the hour I had my answer (I was partly right in my sleuthing….but did not expect that person to be the murderer). Thank you Louise for filling my life with your friends from Three Pines. I live in Stanstead Quebec which is, as you know, very close to Knowlton. Last year my husband and I tried to find the haunts you base your locations on and we found a few. Such a beautiful area. And when I was in Quebec, I retraced some of the streets and buildings Gamache investigated as he was recovering from his near death experience ( and even took pictures as my own “documentation” and my sweet husband Marc -my Michael – just smiled and looked at the scenery).
Gamache is a “real” person to me with the face of Det. Inspector Jury from the British series with the same name as does Beauvoir who has the face of the Sergeant in Midsummer Murders. As you see, they are real when I read your books.
I so look forward to reading your next book but I do wonder where you take the time to do so with your very busy schedule….a woman of many talents. I also look forward to reading your next newsletter, they are always very interesting. And Linda from Scotland, keep up the good work, you certainly have talent.
A friend of Gamache and Beauvoir and the unforgettable Ruth and Rosa, thank you.
And to you Louise, thank you for giving me such reading pleasure.
    Your faithful reader, Pierrette

  4. LOL. Just watched the video, keeping an eye out for my photo, only to discover it was the first one in the montage. Très cool.

  5. I am an avid reader. No time passes between books, but after reading Glass Houses I could not start another book for days! Nothing could follow that book. Ms Penny, you are the best writer I have ever read! VIVE GAMACHE!

  6. Oh my gosh. My photo made it in this video! I’ve been to 3 of Louise’s book signings. Each time a larger fan base is in attendance. Yes, Vive Gamache! Thank you.

  7. Lovely montage of happy readers celebrating a good book and a wonderful author. Thank you Linda-in-Scotland! 📚

  8. Probably one of the worse things to say to an author is, “…and when will the next book be out?”, but that is exactly how I feel. (No pressure, that!!!) I can hardly wait to find out what kind of “being” Gracie turns out to be. Will Daniel and his family be moving back to Montreal so we get to know them better? Will Ruth let a little more of her life story slip out so we understand more clearly why she is so F.I.N.E? Of course, hoping for dear Isabelle, her husband and two daughters for her recovery. Love all these characters and how the love for each other showed in Clara’s ingenuous incomplete masterpieces. THANK YOU, Louise Penny.

  9. I am a Canadian who lives in London, I cannot wait until you treat us to your company. I don’t care where you go, I’ll be there for sure. You have made my life much better by supplying me with a place to escape to. I am a Bilingual Canadian who speaks Québécois was educated in French and grew up to learn both, so little things like “tête carré” really bring a smile to my face.. I miss it living here in London. Your books have saved me and preserved the Québécoise in me. Thank you soooooooooo much ❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️❤️🎉❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😄😄😄😘😘😘

    1. I too am from Quebec and now live in Colorado. I don’t get back very often but I read and re-read these books to feel like I have taken a trip home!

  10. I have never before in my life traveled 500 miles round-trip to meet an author until I drove from Birmingham, AL to New Orleans simply to meet Louise Penny. In fact, I can’t think of any author I’ve driven to my local library to meet, but Louise Penny, you are a phenomenal woman in addition to being a best-selling author. As I told you in New Orleans, I have learned to love you by entering into the fictional world of Three Pines and delighting in the characters you have developed there. I want to know those people and be friends with them, too. Thank you for taking on the exhausting, but I hope exhilarating, journey to share yourself with your adoring followers. Count me among the most avid. Since I was introduced to your work in August 2016, I have always been reading one of your books. Can’t even count how many times I’ve read them now. Every time I finish the list, I just start over! You are a treasure and I am so grateful for your life and work!

  13. From the moment the video started, you made me smile, Louise. All the way through it brought great moments from your visit here in Arizona. Glass Houses is your best book yet, and I treasure all of your books. Have a wonderful year and I hope you are able to return to us now the heat is retreating. Thank you.
